20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd April 2022
Asturias – SPAIN
After 10 years of organising classic motorcycle races and making the Colombres Rally an unmissable event on the international classic motorcycle calendar, the MC Indianos has decided to take a step forward and organise the first non-competitive Rider in 2022 open to motorcycles of any year.
This event is born as an illusion and its aim is to satisfy the demand of those riders who, not owning a classic motorbike, weren’t unable to participate in the routes organised by the MC Indianos both in the North of Spain Rally and in the Colombres Rally. This is the origin of the Colombres Rider, an event holding the same spirit and format as in the classic Rallies, but with the added difficulty of more modern motorbikes.
On Wednesday 20th April from 16 to 20 pm, will take place at the headquarters of the MC Indianos in the Hotel-restaurant La Parra (La Franca-Asturias), the reception of participants, delivery of material and its distribution by the hotels. For riders participating only in the Colombres Challenge, the reception will be on Friday 22nd April at the same time and place.
The programme will consist of 3 routes held on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of April respectively; they will run entirely on tarmac roads (no off-road stretches) combining the most beautiful landscapes of the Picos de Europa with the spectacular beaches and maritime ports of the Cantabrian coast.
To complete the routes without any kind of difficulty, the organisation will provide the participants with the well-known roadbooks “made in MC Indianos” with the same format as in the classic motorcycle Rallies, which have been so popular within the participants, thus maintaining the retro feel that characterises the MC Indianos.
The first two routes (21st and 22nd April) will have a distance of approximately 186 miles. During the routes, the organisers will provide the participants with a succulent snack that will allow the riders to enjoy the route without worrying about anything else but riding their motorcycles.
The third route (Saturday 23rd April) will be the highlight of the Rider with the celebration of the 1st COLOMBRES CHALLENGE, the challenge of riding 311 miles in a single day ascending from sea level to heights of around 2. 000 metres in altitude, winding through the best and most demanding high mountain passes of the Picos de Europa National Park, some with more than 19 miles of ascent and other shorter ones with gradients of more than 20%, combining it with the most beautiful beaches and fishing villages of the coast of Cantabria and Asturias.
The Colombres Challenge is a non-competitive endurance race, designed for the more experienced riders whose objective is to finish it.
The departure will be made by plate number with a time interval between participants and during the same, participants must find along the route several checkpoints, making a photograph as close as possible to the documentation provided with the visible license plate of your motorbike and the passenger if participating, obtaining 1 point for each checkpoint made. Participants who manage to certify their passage through all the checkpoints will receive a well-deserved diploma and a finisher’s medal to remind them of the achievement of having completed the tough, spectacular and demanding 1st Colombres Challenge.
On Saturday evening, all those registered will be able to enjoy a delicious and traditional Asturian “espicha” for dinner (ribs, criollos, omelette, cabrales cheese…) and thus closing the Rider Colombres 2022.
We offer 2 types of registration:
– 3 days registration (21st, 22nd and 23rd April) includes: MC Indianos bag, 3-day road books, exclusive T-shirt, sticker-plate for the motorcycle, trophy-souvenir of the event (rider only), provisioning during the first two routes, traditional Asturian dinner (espicha) on Saturday night and if the participant manages to certify his passage through all the checkpoints in the Colombres Challenge he/she will also receive a diploma and a finisher’s medal.
– 1 day registration (Colombres Challenge – Saturday 23rd April) includes: MC Indianos bag, road book, exclusive T-shirt, sticker-plate for the motorcycle, trophy-souvenir of the event (rider only), traditional Asturian dinner (espicha) on Saturday night and if the participant manages to certify his passage through all the checkpoints in the Colombres Challenge he/she will also receive a diploma and a finisher’s medal.
